Power of Prayer

Hard to believe it's 2012 ... Wonder what this "apocalyptic year" will bring?  ;)

As far as life with Ellie goes, she is now five months old.  She can roll over, talks all the time, and absolutely LOVES her feet!  One of the best things she does now is that she really recognizes us.  The smile that takes over her whole face just melts your heart!  Hearing her laugh is such a special feeling.  (Although, listening to her talking to herself and crying when she should be asleep right now isn't the most exciting feeling ever.)

On another note, we did get some unpleasant news this week.  Rollin went to the doctor last week to get a lump checked out and it turns out that it's testicular cancer.  I know, the "c word" is pretty frightening.  Apparently, though, this type of cancer is almost 100% curable if they catch it early enough.  He had his CT scan today, but we don't know the results from that just yet.  We're headed to Turkey Creek Medical Center tomorrow at 6:30 am for surgery to remove the tumor.  I guess we will find out the results then. We have really seen how blessed we are while we have been figuring out how to handle the news.  Rollin's strong faith has really been evident.  Seeing him trust that God is already waiting for us at the hospital with everything in His control, helps to calm my nerves.  Ironic that I'm the one who's nervous ...

Also, our prayer warriors, friends and family, are amazing!  We strongly believe in the power of prayer and have been so richly blessed by the number of people who have been sending up prayers.  I really do feel that they will help us handle whatever news comes our way tomorrow.  So, keep 'em coming!  :) For now, I'm going to try to get some sleep.  I'll update the blog tomorrow after surgery.  Please pray that whatever results from tomorrow, that God receive the glory and that our little family grow even closer together.
