Ellie Update: 5 Weeks Old
Yes, I missed the four week update ... I tell ya, I need to get it together!
Ellie is officially one month (and a week, technically). She had her one month appointment this week, and it went really well! She is now 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long. This puts her in the 50% for weight and 90% for height! Rollin said she has been watching too much "America's Next Top Model" with me. Haha
Our only issue still remains to be sleep. There is just too much going on in the world for Ellie to miss! She fights sleep hardest at late evening, just when we're feeling really tired. Not the best combination! Her average sleep has dropped to around 11 hours instead of 15. Dr. Abby said she wasn't too concerned since Elie was growing so well and was such a happy baby. But she did give us some cool tricks for helping her sleep! One was to put her in her car seat and set her on the dryer (with you nearby, of course!). She said it mimics the car. Can't wait to try that one!
Get ready for this ... Rollin and I went on a date last night! Yep, a date. We hadn't done anything since the night before Ellie arrived, so it was very nice. My mom babysat, which she loves, and we went to dinner and a movie! We lauged at our conversation because you could tell we hadn't been out of the house much. Good times.
Rollin started work at the Boys and Girls Club this week. He said it went well, a little crazy, but well! Fun group of kids, and he is excited to continue working with them. I start back September 19. Then things are gonna get really interesting! Many prayers needed for that transition. That's about it for now, gonna try and get some more sleep! :)
